We count on Valor Estratégico Consultores, a team of street-smart professionals, who are also countryside, desert, mountains and coast-smart, since they work closely with various communities throughout Chile. With extensive experience in the public and private sector, our professionals know the social structures and networks to acknowledge when generating links between companies or institutions and their immediate environment.
We are deeply involved in the communities in which we work, getting to know each place and its people, suggesting the execution of community diagnosis, a map of actors and an analysis of the environment, which includes the identification or monitoring of critical matters, such as regulatory, environmental, political and social issues. Furthermore, we make a permanent assessment of community risks.
We transform the exercise of reporting data into a value proposition for the company. We elaborate solid sustainability policies and reports, allowing organizations to inform their stakeholders about their sustainable management, which reflects not only full compliance with regulations, but also additional initiatives that respond to stakeholder wishes, focusing on key indicators in economic, social and environmental matters.
To build transparent and close relationships with communities, we design and implement relationship plans, management of socio-environmental impacts and social investment. We explain the projects and learn about the communities’ concerns in public consultations, early citizen participation, mechanisms for suggestions and complaints, and door-to-door work, among others. We advise companies with complex social environments and adverse regulatory scenarios, so that they can develop their projects or operations in harmony.
Good relationships are built by knowing each other. We promote relationships with local authorities, social and neighborhood groups, institutional actors and opinion leaders, managing meetings, accompanying them, and following up so that what is agreed is fulfilled, and thus building ties of trust.
Faced with possible community conflicts, we work proactively in scenario analysis, preparation of crisis manuals and internal protocols, holding socio-community spokesperson workshops, formation of crisis committees, mapping of priority authorities and communications plans.
We have experience in linking with indigenous peoples, implementing early consultations, applying standards of the ILO Convention 169, IFC and The Equator Principles, with the purpose of building relationships based on positive and long-term dialogue.
It is not irrelevant how to make a contribution to a community. We advise on the design, implementation and monitoring of social investment plans that contribute to improving in a sustainable way the quality of life of the communities in which the organization has some kind of impact.
A plan must be coherent with the vision of the company, but above all focused on the interests and needs of the communities involved, which arise in dialogue processes.
The socio environmental evaluation process is increasingly complex and still a matter of legislative discussion. To reduce the uncertainty of this stage, we accompany clients throughout the environmental processing of their projects, developing baselines of the human environment for Environmental Impact Studies, supporting the design, planning and implementation of early and formal citizen participation, and collaborating in the preparation of Addenda in socio-community aspects.
